Queen Anne Toned Down

 Before:
This chair was going back into a room that was changing it's style.  No longer was Queen Anne going to rule the day, this room wanted to go in a completely different direction.  So, we gave it a paint job.  Turned out really cute!

After:
What a difference a little paint and scrap of fabric can make.  I primed, gave it a couple coats of paint and then slightly distressed it.

Before:
This piece is going in the same room.  Needs a mini-makeover.

After:
Primed and a couple coats of paint with slight distressing.  Love the way it turned out.

This particular client didn't want to give up all her wood furniture but was sick of how dark it made the room feel.  Our goal was light and airy.  Allergies were also a problem.  Carpet was switched out to hardwood floors and all the fabric on the windows was a must to go.  We opted for wood cornice boards with a little bit of decorative scroll work and a small fabric ruffle that easily detaches with Velcro for washing.  We also switched up the furniture arrangement to a slightly more unexpected scenario.  Such a cute room, easily done with paint and a little fabric.
